1907 IWC Cal. 53 — pocket heritage reimagined
This piece centers on a 1907 IWC pocket-watch movement, presented in a large wrist case that preserves the period enamel dial and gilt Louis XVI hands. The construction pairs historic finishing and traditional forms with a modern stainless exhibition case to reveal the movement. At its heart beats IWC’s Cal. 53 — a manually wound pocket calibre with a swan-neck regulator and bimetallic balance running at about 18,000 A/h, carrying the PROBUS SCAFUSIA quality mark. For the collector who values mechanical provenance and early-20th-century watchmaking, it offers direct contact with IWC’s technical tradition in a wearable format.
