Circa 1970 Omega Constellation, Cal. 1001
This Constellation dates to around 1970 and exemplifies the refined sport-dress watches Omega made at the turn of the decade. The silver “linen” dial with applied batons and a six‑o’clock date sits beneath a period-correct acrylic crystal in a 36 mm stainless steel case with screw back and observatory medallion. Inside, the automatic Cal. 1001 chronometer movement—20 jewels, ~28,800 vph—continues Omega’s technical tradition of precise, high-beat calibres. For a contemporary collector, it offers a compact, wearable example of vintage Swiss construction and purposeful design from a well-documented era.
