Early IWC Lepine, circa 1915
This piece carries a Lepine Calibre 73 from around 1915, a movement family that fed into IWC’s later large-calibre wristwatch tradition. The refurbished dial, stainless-steel conversion case (43 mm, 52 mm lug-to-lug, 13 mm thick) and period-correct crown preserve the watch’s early-20th-century character while making it wearable today. The manually wound, 17-jewel calibre embodies Schaffhausen’s engineering of the era and links to the lineage that preceded the Portugieser. For a contemporary collector it offers a tactile connection to historic movement architecture and the craft of early wristwatch conversions.
