Certina’s 1959 “Double Security” system—Swiss patent 346 825—suspended the movement on a rubber ring (yellow here), proven when DS watches accompanied the 1960 Dhaulagiri Himalayan expedition to 8,167 m. Swiss Patent 346 825 DS construction and in-house cal. 25-66 place this piece in the early 1960s; consistent with the turtle-back case and dial/handset style.
