Reference 2503-17 belongs to Omega's early post-war large steel dress-watch group. In period terms, a 36 mm steel case was a full-size format and gives this watch stronger wrist presence than the more common smaller dress references of the era. The watch is powered by caliber 266, a hand-wound small-seconds movement from Omega's long-running 30 mm family derived from the 30T2 line. That family is a key part of Omega's mid-century manual-wind production and is well regarded for its robust, straightforward architecture. This example presents a professionally restored black dial with gold-tone furniture, including the applied Omega symbol, faceted baton markers, and dauphine hands. Together with the sub-seconds register at 6, it creates a very typical early 1950s formal Omega layout, but in a larger-than-average steel case. The movement photo shows the signed Omega bridge, 17 jewels marking, and the stamped 266 caliber, while the inside caseback is stamped Acier Staybrite with Omega Watch Co Swiss Made. The visible case profile, broad bezel, and rounded lugs fit the restrained post-war dress style of the reference.
