Why this watch.

Glashütte Precision in a Wristworn Form

This antique pocket watch movement powers a pocket watch conversion in a new case for wristwear. Signed for Deutsche Präzisions-Uhrenfabrik Glashütte, the cooperative registered in Glashütte in 1918, it is the Calibre 43 Type 2.1, catalogued within the 1920–1925 production period. Its 43 mm, 19-ligne architecture is defined by the characteristic three-quarter-plate layout, a clear expression of the period’s Glashütte precision-watchmaking tradition. The white dial’s stylized Arabic numerals, ornate hands and subsidiary seconds lend an appropriate early twentieth-century visual language. It offers a direct, wristworn way to appreciate an unusually substantial historic movement design.
