Late‑1940s Omega automatic with bumper calibre 351
This Omega Automatic Ref. 2582-1 dates to circa 1949 and presents the restrained proportions and stainless-steel construction typical of the era. The original Arabic numeral dial, with its warm patina and subtle surface crazing, sits beneath a period-correct acrylic crystal for authentic period character. At its heart is Omega’s calibre 351 bumper automatic — a historically important hammer-wind mechanism with central seconds and 17 jewels — recently serviced (06-02-2026) for reliable daily wear. It offers a direct mechanical link to early automatic innovation while remaining eminently wearable for today’s collector.
