Early 20th‑Century IWC pocket movement converted for the wrist
This timepiece centres on an IWC pocket-watch movement produced in 1914, presented within a substantial 48 mm steel case with contemporary lugs. The dial has been professionally restored and the subsidiary seconds repositioned to suit the converted crown location, offering a clear, period‑inspired display. Visible through the exhibition back is a large three‑quarter plate with a frosted gilt finish, typical of IWC pocket architecture. The manual 15‑jewel movement, now freshly serviced, speaks to early IWC engineering—an appealing study in historical watchmaking craftsmanship for collectors interested in wearable mechanical transitions.
