Mid‑1960s PRIM in steel
A mid‑1960s Czechoslovak Prim built around the TYP 0121 movement, this dress watch shows the era’s restrained geometry: a two‑tone sector dial, applied gold‑tone batons, dauphine hands, subsidiary seconds and a framed date at 3. The all‑steel case aligns with sturdier period examples, while the movement — a 15‑jewel, small‑seconds manual calibre marked TYP 0121 — reflects domestic PRIM engineering of the time with straightforward, practical finishing. For a contemporary collector, the piece offers a balanced combination of mid‑century character, wearable 36 mm proportions and a movement that speaks to regional manufacturing tradition.
