Why this watch.

A 1908 Longines Conversion — enamel and engineering

This conversion pairs a pocket-watch heart with a modern wrist case: a Caliber 19.74N movement dating to circa 1908, visible through an exhibition back in a new stainless steel case. The original antique enamel dial and period-correct gilded hands preserve the visual character of the era, while a contemporary mineral crystal and robust case make it wearable today. The hand-wound 19.74N, identified by serial 493••••, represents Longines’ early-20th-century craftsmanship. For a collector interested in mechanical lineage and historic materials, it offers a direct, wearable connection to turn-of-the-century watchmaking.
