This unique timepiece showcases a wristwatch conversion built around an original IWC pocket watch movement. The substantial 48mm steel case and contemporary lugs create a "jumbo" wrist presence with a 56mm lug-to-lug span, significantly diverging from the movement's original pocket watch format. The dial configuration, featuring the subsidiary seconds positioned at 9 o'clock, indicates the movement's rotation to accommodate a wristwatch crown position. The dial itself has been professionally refurbished, boasting stylized Arabic numerals and an inset seconds register for a clean and highly legible appearance.
Through the display back, one can admire the classic IWC pocket watch architecture, characterized by a large three-quarter plate and frosted gilt-toned finish. The manual-wind Caliber 65 movement features 15 jewels and proudly bears the serial number 6000•••, dating its production to 1914. Notably, the movement plates also display Swiss patent numbers +31457 and +55231, adding a layer of historical intrigue to its provenance.
This piece was meticulously serviced on 14.03.2026, adding practical value and reliability to this century-old pocket watch movement, now elegantly adapted for the wrist. The gold case is flawless, the case back is perfect, and the dial has only 1 small imperfection (pictured in listing, expected). For a watch from 1982, this is amazing. The Caliber 1110 movement is working very smoothly. The quick-set date is great, and the power reserve is too.
