IWC Calibre 65, Reframed for the Wrist
This antique pocket watch movement powers a pocket watch conversion in a new case for wristwear. Dating to circa 1918, its hand-wound IWC calibre 65 belongs to the manufacture’s finger-bridge movement family, introduced in 1893. The new 48 mm stainless-steel case gives this early IWC a notably broad wrist format and reveals the movement through an exhibition back. On the refurbished dial, stylized Arabic numerals and the offset small-seconds register at 9 o’clock create an expressive, period-inspired layout. It offers a direct way to appreciate IWC’s early mechanical architecture in daily wristwatch form.
