This classic mid-century Universal Genève time-only watch, estimated to be produced circa 1945, boasts a design rooted in the mobilization era. The watch features small seconds at 6 o'clock and a robust steel case, marked with the period trade name ENVERSTEEL. Its looped, hooded lug design offers a sculptural aesthetic that distinguishes it from the typical straight-lug dress cases of the time. The caliber 262 movement is a well-regarded, manual-wind design with 17 jewels, respected for its use in 1940s and early 1950s dress watches. Note that the dial has been professionally restored by a dial specialist using period-correct techniques, presenting a vintage look with Arabic numerals, a railroad minute track, and blued hands.
