Why this watch.

An Unconventional Chronograph Language

Vintage Eberhard & Co. Pre-Extra Fort chronographs embody the brand’s inventive pre-war technical language. Its single upper pusher and lower case-band slide accompany the tachymeter scale; the slide follows Eberhard’s 1935 patent for stopping and restarting the chronograph without clearing the recorded time. The silver dial brings Arabic numerals, recessed registers, blued hands and blue scale printing into a purposeful composition. Beneath it, the hand-wound Eberhard 16000, based on the Valjoux 65, connects this watch to a chronograph architecture developed in the 1930s—an engaging proposition for collectors drawn to thoughtful mechanics and distinctive controls.
