Late-1920s Eberhard chronometer conversion
This late-1920s Eberhard & Co. watch pairs a chronomètre-grade pocket movement with a modern steel wrist conversion, retaining engraved sides and an exhibition back. The 18''' 1/4 hand-wound calibre, finished to carry “EIGHTEEN JEWELS / FOUR ADJS”, uses a screw balance and Breguet overcoil — the same construction Eberhard favoured for precision timekeepers of the era. A period “Chronometre” style dial has been sympathetically refurbished and the watch is mounted on a new 24 mm leather strap. It offers a wearable link to classical pocket-watch engineering for collectors who appreciate thoughtful conversions.
