A clean late-1960s IWC Schaffhausen automatic with date in a sharp, tonneau/cushion stainless-steel case (ref. R 804 A). The original silver sunburst dial has applied baton hour markers, a framed date at 3, and “International Watch Co. Schaffhausen” script—under crisp acrylic (period-correct) crystal. At 37 mm with 20 mm lugs, it wears elegantly yet substantial for the era.

Inside beats IWC’s famed Pellaton-winding caliber 8541—25 jewels, ~19,800 a/h—hand-engraved “Adjusted to Five (5) Positions” and signed “C. 8541”. Movement serial 1897•••• (full number in buyer documents) aligns to 1968 per IWC movement tables. The watch has been freshly serviced (09/2025) for dependable daily wear.

Condition is honest with light case wear, a clean dial, and a signed crown. Supplied on a new 20 mm leather strap. A classic, nicely sized IWC that delivers the refined feel of the 85x family with everyday practicality.
